Rapid drying of hay and haylage shortens the harvest window, enhances forage quality, and reduces the chance of rain damage. This new publication details the best research-based practices to hasten the dry down of hay and haylage: proper mowing height, well-adjusted conditioning, laying wide swaths, and well-timed raking/merging (8 pages; 2011).
