The School Breakfast Program is a federal nutrition program operating in many public and private schools in Wisconsin. Breakfast served as part of the School Breakfast Program must meet dietary guidelines. The School Breakfast Program allows students to qualify for free or reduced price meals, based on their family’s income. Student participation in the School Breakfast Program is important since research shows that eating breakfast improves the quality of a child’s diet and contributes to his or her academic success.
