Soybean Cyst Nematode Identification & Management (DVD)The soybean cyst nematode (SCN) can cause serious economic damage once it becomes established, cutting yields by as much as 49%. In 2006, it had already been found in more than half of Wisconsin's 72 counties and will continue to spread.
On this DVD, soybean expert Shawn Conley teams up with plant pathologists Craig Grau and Ann MacGuidwin to show how to scout for and identify the nematode. They also describe how this tiny roundworm reproduces and spreads, how to inspect plant roots without knocking off nematodes that may be present, effective plant rotations, and selecting soybean varieties for SCN resistance.
